Keisuke Tokyo @ Suntec City

The bunny and hubby were at Suntec shopping today (Yes, the IT show) and chanced upon Keisuke Tokyo. We decided to have lunch there and take the time to mull over the PC that we wanted to buy for the new house.

I had blogged about Tonkotsu King @ Orchid Hotel previously, and Keisuke Tokyo is from the same ramen chain by Chef Keisuke Takeda. According to their website, the Suntec City outlet is the largest of the lot.

The menu of the Suntec branch has the usual Tonkotsu ramen, but also features interesting flavors such as crab stock and Niboshi (fish base stock).

The queue and waiting time was considerably short, say about 10 mins with the lunch time crowd. The interior is definitely a lot more spacious than Tonkotsu King @ Orchid Hotel.

I don't want to gush but the Crab stock ramen special ($18.90) that I had was rich, creamy and flavorful. The umami essence of crab oozes out with every spoonful of the broth. The noodles were thicker than the usual ramen, but still springy. Standards of the chashu were kept, and was as tender as I remembered from my trips to Tonkotsu King.

The hubby ordered the Niboshi ramen special ($18.90) and it was pretty good as well, if you like fish. The broth was lighter than the crab, but captured the aroma of fish and garlic without the overwhelming fishy odor.
