Kith Cafe @ Sentosa Cove [Pet Friendly]

It was an afternoon of intense sand digging for puppy Pixie and her best pal, FrozT as we planned a special day out for the doggies. After all the chasing around the beach and washing the sand off the struggling pups, oh boy... the humans were practically starving!

We drove a short distance to Sentosa Cove to fill our tummies at Kith Cafe, which is at the North Cove by the way, if you are as much of a direction klutz as me.

Doggies are welcomed at Kith, but they are sadly not allowed to go up the chairs. And nope... no food for the pooches either.

The cafe is situated right next to the marina and boosts an impressive view of the area. As we were seated outdoors, both doggies and humans got to enjoy the warm, salty sea breeze as well. Pretty relaxing, actually.

The drinks were the first to arrive. Our friends ordered the Iced Mangosteen & Pear (Iced Tea, $6.50) and to be honest, it's way too healthy for my palate. There was the signature scent of mangosteen in the drink but the sweetness of the pear just did not come through. In contrast, the Hazelnut Nutella milkshake ($8.50) that I ordered to shared with the hubby was simply luscious. The milkshake boasts a strong hazelnut flavor with just the right tinge of cocoa, and was really smooth and creamy at the same time. It's one item that this bunny would come back for - really, it's that good!

For mains, I had the Granchio ($24). The linguine was done al dente, the crab meat was briny and succulent; the chilies gave a spiciness that burned slowly; the plump, juicy cherry tomatoes added a hint of acidity that balanced the dish. Overall, I would say that the taste is rather decent.

The husband had raving reviews for his Grilled Black Angus Ribeye ($32). He had asked for the steak to be done medium, and it arrived exactly as he asked - a feat which even specialty steak houses cannot achieve sometimes, as we found out the hard way. The ribeye was flavorful and was so tender that it melts-in-your-mouth.

Our friends had the Carbonara ($18) and Big Breakfast ($18). No comments here from the bunny as I didn't actually sample the dishes.

The hubby and bunny decided to be extra indulgent and ordered the Hot Chocolate Lava Cake ($12) for dessert. We had to wait a little while for it to be ready, so it was a good thing that the cake did not disappoint. Thick, gooey chocolate oozed out as we cut open the confection. It was, however, slightly too sweet for our taste buds.
