Miam Miam @ Bugis Junction

The bunny was introduced to Miam Miam by a supplier (the same guy as Fukuichi at TripleOne Somerset), so it was close to Christmas when I headed down to Bugis Junction to have lunch. It's the first of the chain in Singapore and Miam Miam is already well-established in Australia.

Miam Miam serves French/Japanese fusion food as a stand-alone stall at #02-14 of the mall. It's kinda weird since the place was away from the other eateries and surrounded by apparel shops. Oh wells, you can look around to see which of the shops are having sale while waiting for your meal like I did...

There were lots of pasta choices in Japanese style and I was really spoilt for choice... The curry rice looked pretty tempting on the menu as well! I eventually settled on the Miam Miam Spaghetti as it was one of their signature dishes.

Sorry.. the pic's a little blur
The Miam Miam Spaghetti ($15.80) is a twist to the familiar Aglio Olio. The al dente pasta was tossed with butter and shoyu to give a rich, savory taste. It was accompanied with frankfurters, wilted baby spinach, juicy tomatoes quarters, bacon, crunchy Shimeji mushrooms and topped with toasted sesame seeds and a perfectly poached egg that still had a runny yolk. It's a tasty, well-balanced meal all in one!

For dessert, I got the Valrhona Chocolate Soufflé ($13.80). I had high hopes for it initially as it was advertised as Miam Miam's speciality. It takes a while for the soufflé to bake (about 20 mins), so I had asked the staff to start preparing the minute my spaghetti arrived. Even so, I had to wait quite a bit after I finished my main for the soufflé to reach me. Miam Miam's chocolate soufflé looked good when it arrived - lightly baked and with a straight risen side. Digging in, the sides were slightly crusty while the middle was still gooey. However, it was too sweet for this bunny to finish. Also, it was a tad too dense - not the airy, fluffy soufflé I was expecting.

Service wise, staff were pleasant, warm and seemed to genuinely take pride in assisting the guests. While they were generally fast in taking orders, food did take a while to arrive on the table.
