Lady M @ Marina Square

The Mille Crepe is a cake that this bunny is particularly fond of and Lady M Confections, the pioneer of such cakes has opened its doors at Marina Square. Hence, the bunny and the hubby decided to skip dinner last Sunday and headed to Lady M for to satisfy our sweet tooth.

The place is decorated simply with white as the main color theme. Clean and minimalistic describes the look and feel.

Cakes are obviously the star here. There are about 10 types of cakes available on the menu with prices of $7.50 - $10 a slice.

We settled for the Checkers Board cake and of course, the Mille Crepe cake. The hubby had wanted the Tarte a la Mangue but it was unfortunately sold out on our visit.

The Checkers Board Cake ($8/slice) was a pretty piece of artistry created by alternating dark cubes of chocolate and light vanilla sponge. On the tongue, the sponges had contrasting tastes that complement each other - rich and slightly bitter chocolate for the dark cubes; light and sweeter tasting vanilla cubes. Less cream and more chocolate ganache would have made me love the cake more.

The Mille Crepe ($7.50/slice) takes the cake! (pun intended :P) Lady M's Mille Crepe was light as air. Each crepe layer was literally as thin as paper. The pastry cream between each layer was fluffy and had sweetness that was just right. When eaten, the cake was almost melting in my mouth.

The hubby and I both ordered teas - Chamomile for me and Earl Grey for him ($4 each). They're a pretty good value for money since the tea is served in pots. Also, the chamomile helped to warm me up a little since the air-conditioner at Lady M's was kinda strong.

Lady M is definitely a good place to go if you're craving for decent cakes. I'm already aiming for the Strawberry Shortcake on my next visit!
