Krispy Kreme opens in Singapore @ Tangs Orchard

Krispy Kreme has finally opened on Singapore shores! The official opening was yesterday, but the bunny decided to give that a miss since the queues were expected to be super duper lengthy. In fact, Krispy Kreme even posted a guide to happy-queuing for launch day on their Facebook page.

So, the bunny decided to head down to Basement 1 of Tangs Orchard today instead. I really couldn't wait any longer for my doughnut fix!

At 5pm, the line was snaking and ended at behind the ATMs, just steps away from the escalators. There were about 50 people in front of me when I joined the queue. Staff handed out sheets of the order form to customers in the queue.

After 5 mins in the queue, a member of the staff asked if we wanted to get the Assortment pack which were already pre-packed. We said yes and got bumped to the express line, which was an additional 2 mins wait before reached the cashier, got our doughnuts and paid the moolah. Total waiting time = 7 mins

We got the assorted pack, in a double dozen ($47.70), which was better value than buying a single dozen ($26.50). The packed box didn't have 4 of the flavors - Cookies and Cream, Powered Blueberry Filled, New York Cheesecake and Cappuccino Franco.

Hopefully the crazed queues will die down soon so I can enjoy the other flavors in the Krispy Kreme doughnut repertoire and get a beverage while I'm at it.
