My Scheming Bird's Nest Collagen Mask Review

My earlier post on the review of My Scheming's Herbal Anti-Acne Mask mentioned that I tried 2 masks with good results. Well, the Bird Nest Collagen Mask was the other of the 2.

Etude House Collagen Moistfull Peeling Wash

A sample of Etude House's Collagen Moistfull Peeling Wash made up part of the stash that was given to me with my recent Etude House purchase. After using for a week, this post is a review of the wash.

FaceQ Almond and Shea Butter mask

The bunny is going through a mask craze lately. Last night, I tried Face Q's Almond and Shea Butter Mask which I received as a gift with purchase from Sunnanz during my My Scheming masks haul.

Medicated Beauty After Care Gel by Musee Platinum Tokyo

The therapist at Musee Platinum Tokyo handed me some samples of the Medicated Beauty After Care Gel to try out after my IPL session with them.

She mentioned that it's supposed to help with the patch of super dry, flaky skin that I have on my leg. I've tried so many moisturizers, creams and there's no significant effect on the patch so I wasn't harboring much hopes.

Then again, no harm trying since the samples are free. (Yes, I'm being a cheapskate bunny here. LOL)

New toy - Nexus 7

I'm actually writing this post with my brand new Nexus 7 from Google playstore.

Thank you DHL for expediting and delivering on Christmas day, 3 days earlier than the expected delivery date. It's a great Christmas present!

Merry Christmas!

The Oblivious Bunny wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead!

Happy holidays!

Thanks to the bf for the adorable Xmas kitties!

I finally broke out the sample pack of Etude House's Milk Talk Body Wash in Strawberry which I received with my recent Etude House purchases.

Wavve Grill & Chill @ Orange Tee Building

The bf and the bunny were in the Toa Payoh area for some shopping and decided to walk-in to Wavve, which is located at level 1 of Orange Tee Building, for their Spanish buffet ($24++).

Since it was slightly earlier than 6.30pm, we decided to order drinks and wait for the buffet to start. The interior is dark and looks more of a pub than a restaurant. I could hardly see the menu.

6.30pm came and went but the staff gave no indication that the buffet started. I had to go up to the counter, because all the staff seemed to be looking in the opposite direction when I waved for attention, to check. Even then, the staff debated among themselves if the buffet was ready for diners. It was a case of poor management, pure and simple.

My Beauty Diary 2-Step Europe Clarifying Pack

My Beauty Diary has recently introduced 5 continents-themed masks - Africa Hydrating Pack, America Soothing Pack, Asia Brightening Pack, Europe Clarifying Pack & Oceania Firming Pack. They are 2-step which means each pack comes with the sheet mask and a sachet of cream/emulsion for application after the mask. The packaging are all so cute and colorful.

My Scheming Herbal Anti-Acne Mask Review

The bunny has just hauled My Scheming masks from Sunnanz. They're going at less than a dollar a piece ($0.99 to be exact)!

By no fault of Sunnanz, this order almost gave me a heart attack, thanks to Singpost's atrocious service. (Read all about it here.) I'll like to take this opportunity to thank Christina from Sunnanz for her support and prompt follow-ups when the package went missing. Talk about the difference of heaven and hell in terms of customer service.

I'm happy to report that all the masks purchased this time round have very recent manufacturing dates, around Aug/Sep 2012.

Kkongdon Barbeque @ Marina Square

Kkondong is the new Korean BBQ kid on the block at Marina Square, #B1-01/02, opened by JP Pepperdine. The name supposedly translates to "best price value" in Korean.

The bf and I initially wanted to try their set dinner priced at $19.80++ (min 2 person), but decided to forgo that option as it was so misleading. The set dinner is essentially ONE set dinner for 2, not individual sets with minimum of 2 people to order. That was sore point #1.

Sore point #2: Plain water is charged at $0.30 per glass. Most korean restaurants serve free flow water, tea, and/or soft drinks.

Singpost's horrible service

Dear Singpost,

I am really appalled by your pathetic attempt at service. What was intended as happy shopping experience for Christmas gifts got totally ruined by your inability to provide accurate updates, prompt delivery and this is compounded by your apathetic customer service officers.

Orders were place with Sunnanz, one of Singapore Post's corporate customers and uses SMARTPAC to fulfill and despatch the goods. The goods were sent out on 13 Dec and I was given the tracking number SM000100211SG. In your own words on your website, http://www.singpost.com/delivery-solutions/smartpac.html, you said:
SmartPac is a postage-paid postal service for delivery anywhere in Singapore, the next working day for a fixed price.

  • Pick up a SmartPac and Enhanced efficiency – Assured next day door-step delivery*.
  • Peace of mind – Proof of delivery with complete reliability^.
  • Greater convenience – Enjoy free delivery and pick-up#.
  • Better value – Comes with free packaging box and only $4.70 for delivery up to 3kg.
  • Track & Trace – With easy online access, always know where your package is 24/7.
  • In that sense, shouldn't my parcel reach me on the 14th? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and take it as the parcel was mailed out after the cut of time (not likely as your officers picked the parcel from Sunnanz office in Pasir Ris).

That brings to my next point on your inaccurate tracking system. I got a huge shock on 17 Dec when the status was updated to Item delivered (to Door / Letterbox). My package was nowhere to be found and since it's after 6pm, I could not contact anyone from Singpost.

The very next morning, today, at 8, I called your service hotline 1605 and your officer told me that she would open a case number and investigate and would only revert in 3 working days. The wait is ridiculous. Why should I, as the customer, be penalized by your inability? As I was in a rush to get to work, I hung up the phone after your office committed to expediting the process.

Close to noon, I called again. This time, Jerry answered the call. Apparently, the customer service side have not even contacted the dispatch side. I insisted that Jerry pass the phone to someone who can help me more substantially. After being put on hold for more than 5 minutes, I was referred to Louise. Again, I had to insist that Louise contact the dispatch to give me an explanation - I told her that I was willing to wait on the line while she made that call. In the end, she promised that she will call me back after checking with the dispatch manager.

Almost an hour later, I finally got a call back. Louise explained that the parcel was scanned wrongly and was still at the dispatch area. My parcel will reach me the same day before 6.

What kind of a half baked excuse are you playing at Singpost? Scanned wrongly? What is the tracking number for then? Why is the scanning is done so haphazardly? Between 8 to noon, what were your officers doing? If I had not insisted and stood firm in my request, I have to wait 3 days to get a reply? This experience totally defeats the purpose of the premium paid to ensure safe passage and on time delivery. What are your procedures to ensure that packages reach their rightful owners? After the numerous complaints (just search on google if you are unaware of your shortcomings), are you ever going to improve your service?

It is really discomfiting for me, as a paying customer, that a parcel with a valid tracking number, correct address can have the package go missing. It's time you buck up.

    Nanbantei Japanese Restaurant

The bunny was at Far East Plaza to shop for my 7" tablet at shops like WhyMobile, Mobile Square with no break (or stocks for that matter) and the bf decided to give it a try to get seats at Nanbantei Japanese Restaurant.

Nanbantei is a small cozy restaurant that has a good reputation for good yakitori, grilled skewered food, which explains the perpetual queue, and the need for luck to get seats without prior reservations. I'll have to say the bf was super lucky this time - there were 2 empty seats left and on a weekend evening no less!

    328 Katong Laksa

A bowl of spicy, piping hot laksa hits the spot this dreary, rainy afternoon.

The bf and I were at the famous 328 Katong Laksa, located at 53 East Coast Road, right opposite Roxy Square. There's no menu here, just plain ol' laksa in Small ($4), Medium ($5) or Large ($6), with hum (cockles) or no, and otah.

    Small laksa

Secret Key Snail + EGF Repairing Gel Cream

I admit that I'm slow when on the snail cream craze but yeah, I'm on the the bandwagon now!

This review is on the Snail + EGF Repairing Gel Cream from Secret Key.

    Essence Cosmetics Warehouse Sale

For those unfamiliar with Essence, it's a drugstore cosmetic brand from Germany and entered the local market recently in end 2011. They are quite well-known in Europe for super affordable cosmetics. Best of all, they DO NOT test on animals!

The bunny was at the Essence Cosmetics warehouse sale earlier today. The sale was at 138 Joo Seng Road, #05-00.

    Canton Paradise @ Star Vista

The bunny had her virgin trip to Star Vista! The mall is part of the Capitamall mall group and is situated just next to Buona Vista MRT station. The architecture of the mall itself is pretty interesting - common areas are all non-air-conditioned. Shopping is kind of limited but Star Vista plays host to a number of eateries/ restaurants.

Canton Paradise is located at the basement of Star Vista, B1-45/46. The restaurant serves up Cantonese cuisine and all day dim sum. Like Paradise Dynasty, get a queue number and wait patiently for your turn as numbers are not called out in sequence.

    Paul @ Takashimaya

The bunny had sampled some of the sweets at Paul previously and decided to re-visit for dinner with the bf since we were already in the vicinity.

The Green Bar @ Millenia Walk

The bf and I were looking for something to munch when we stumbled into The Green Bar at Millenia Walk, #01-91B.

The Millenia Walk outlet is the salad shop's second branch. The other is located at 16 Collyer Quay Hitachi Towers #01-16/17. It has a long list of accolades (which can be found on The Green Bar's Facebook page) which neither the bf nor I were aware of when we dined there.

Etude House Lash Perm 3-step Volumecara

The bunny was at Etude House to get some Christmas presents and got the Lash Perm 3-step Volumecara for myself.

It came highly recommended by the SA and I was intrigued by how this mascara could produce 3 kinds of effects. Ok... I am making excuses for buying even more makeup..

    Hankang Korean BBQ Restaurant

If not for Deal.com.sg, I would never have found Hankang Korean BBQ Restaurant. It's located in the back alley of 11 Mackenzie Road, not an area that this bunny would frequent.

揾到食 Wen Dao Shi / Wen Dou Sek / 126

The bf and I had a late dinner at 揾到食 Wen Dao Shi or Wen Dou Sek, while some others know it as 126 due to it's address at 126 Sims Ave.

The bf, being familiar with the bustling eatery, automatically plonked himself down onto one of the empty seats by the roadside and started flipping the menu to order..

    Meiji Warehouse Sale 2012

The bunny was just at Meiji's annual factory warehouse sale, held at 36 Quality Road.

Here's some pics of what was available at the sale!
