High tea @ Carousel

It's a girls' day out and our group of 5 lovely ladies had high tea at Carousel, Royal Plaza on Scotts.

Carousel is one of the rare halal-certified buffets available in Singapore. It is wise to make a reservation if you are planning to dine here as it is always very packed - yes, even for high tea on a weekday.

My party was actually slightly late for our reservation. I was impressed by Carousel's service standards as their staff called me just 5 mins after the stated reservation timing to check if the group was arriving.

The selection of food available was pretty decent.

Clockwise from top left: Australian clam, fresh prawns, salmon sashimi, tilapia sashimi, tuna sashimi.
For buffet standards, I would say that the sashimi and seafood were rather fresh.

Just opposite the seafood counter is the salad bar. Unfortunately, it was pretty much leftovers which did not appeal to me.

There was a variety of cooked food - nasi lemak station, Taiwan snacks, Indian food counter, dim sum, congee, asian savories and more.

The range of desserts was good as well. There's a chocolate fountain and an ice kachang station in addition to the usual fresh fruit and cake platters that were also present. The waffles are also made right in front of your eyes. However, it was so artificially flavored with green pandan that I could not eat more than two bites of it.

L to R: Chocolate pudding, bread & butter pudding with vanilla sauce
The full menu can be found at Carousel's website. If driving, do take note that Carousel does not offer complementary parking.
