The Ship @ nex

The bf and were fully intending to head to Chomp Chomp to have some good old hawker food for dinner. However, we gave up after a few rounds of circling for carpark lots, to no avail. Eventually, we ended up at nex (parking was horrible as well after a 20 min queue), since both of us have not visited this new mall.

The Ship brings back nostalgic memories for the bf and the branch at Shaw is now closed for renovation. Hence, we agreed that The Ship it was for tonight's dinner.

Despite being dinner time, close to 7pm, we were seated within 10 mins. As usual, service at The Ship was impeccable. We were offered the menu and water the moment we sat down and staff were friendly and at hand, ready to assist wherever they can.

I ordered the Ship Combo Executive Set ($20.80) which comes with soup, the main dish, dessert & choice of coffee or tea.

Soup of the day was mushroom soup. I'm glad to say that the soup didn't taste like the canned soup normally served by restaurants. The mushroom soup here was creamy, rich, and I could taste bite sized pieces of real mushrooms.

As for the main, the Ship Combo consist of chicken, pork, chipolata & prawns. The meats were tender, juicy and well seasoned. The prawns were crunchy and fresh but I found them to be just a teensy bit too salty.

For tried and tested good western food at affordable prices, I would definitely recommend The Ship. However, I think I'll probably wait a while for renovations to be completed at Shaw before visiting the restaurant as I'm still apprehensive about traveling to nex with it's narrow and poorly designed carpark.
